This is no longer simply a tech blog

Hey there, it has been a long while.

Over a year ago, I graduated. A few months later, I got a contract job, then I moved on to my current role as a “Computer Operator”. I got a little too comfortable but now I have realized that I need to keep learning to keep up with the changes in AI.

I realized that I kind of fell off being on top of things. I thought to myself, “What is something that made me consistent during school?” I think part of it was actually being in school and another part was not being fully employed.

The next part was this blog. I use to always think of this blog and what I would post next. It kept me from binging YouTube videos and let me focus on the present moment. But I got burnt out of blogging because I felt like it was still a “progress” blog on my career. So I quietly abandoned this blog and removed the links from several platforms.

However, now I am feeling that spark and I have new ideas.

Social Media Problem

Around a year ago or so, I made a new Instagram account just so people had something to tag when they post something with me in it.

I also use it sometimes to see if there are any dance classes I can attend from various studios.

Last but not least - it became a place where I posted a few concert videos here and there. But ultimately, Instagram is so boring to me now…so I find it hard to bring myself to get on unless I really need to get on to find event info or someone DMs me.

However, I was able to see how Instagram still had “pros” underneath all the cons. I thought to myself, I wish I could Instagram without using Instagram…

Social Media Solution

I started to think of this blog again. What if I just use the blog like it is social media? It’s the benefits of diary entry (kind of but not entirely). I get to post updates/pics/vids, all without the FOMO.

Having a blog that also serves as a lil social media kind of reminds me of Tumblr. The customization possibilities remind me of MySpace.

I think social media just lost that flare

It’s lost the creativity, randomness, and un-polished atmosphere that made the internet amazing. I know because I grew up chronically online and somehow ended up the opposite as an adult. But those experiences on the internet is why I am okay with typing out all of this and posting it online for many to see my shower thoughts.

Everything feels so fake and there is too much AI generated media. These days, I don’t even want to get on YouTube. It’s getting weird.

I am still a human being, and human beings like to share things (a curated selection of things…). I like to share without too many expectations.

The vibe of Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, and whatever else exists carries the sentiment of expectation. Things are super polished and finely edited. Everyones skin is super clear and lives are super vibrant. The algorithms are a manipulation tactic that puts people in a bubble, makes everyone overspend their money, and isolates those who are already lonely.

Meh.

So I am back.

I am going to do social media here. A phony social media if you will. I think this change will open my mind to posting about things other than what I am learning on a daily basis. Doing stuff like that can get old really fast.

You see, I am still in the habit of making myself unbearably busy because the lack of social media conjured up 10 more hours to be added onto a 24 hour day /j.

I work, dance, study for certifications, and hang with friends and family. That’s actually already a lot of hours, but I guess I am still “bored” with the few hours that are left in the week.

Haha. I am just lucky to be childless and single - so I have ample time to restart this blog and there are no excuses. Now I can feel like I am keeping myself accountable about something. This habit will lead to other great habits I believe…consistency is a quality that must be carried through all aspects of life in order to have a substantial perpetual impact.

I think this will be hilarious, because I don’t think anyone will pay attention to this site. I’m not telling anyone I am doing this, but I will post it in my profiles. It will be a random obscure corner of the internet that no one cares enough to look at or have enough attention span to read though…

…Unless it is a future employer… if so, then hi there. Please have some tea and enjoy reading about random things. The majority of this will have nothing to do with my tech skills. Apologies.
